Why a tsunami?

I'm extremely fed up with Aberdeen, Washington. A couple of days ago or so, I added this blurb to the header:

I completely loathe the people of Aberdeen, Washington. I wish they would be washed out to sea by a tsunami and eaten by sharks like a modern day Sodom and Gomorrah. I cannot possibly overstate my opinion of how thoroughly awful I think these people are.

In case it needs to be said because people are NUTS:

A. Aberdeen is around 75 percent in a tsunami zone.

B. The West Coast is "overdue" for a large quake.

C. Will Russoul and Co are doing NOTHING to mitigate tsunami risk.

The above linked piece is two pages and page two says 77% of Aberdeen’s developed land, 71% of its residents, and 82% of its businesses are located within the tsunami hazard zone and that page has a MAP showing development. The large, dark red splotch on the north shore of the Chehalis where all the highways meet is "downtown."

I started r/urbanforestry in part because I was thinking of how mangrove forests are KNOWN to protect coastlines against storm surge and even tsunamis but Aberdeen is too far north for mangroves. Mangroves are a tropical species and I thought it would be easy to find another TREE to swap out, but, no. It has not proven that simple.

What I found instead was that loss of otters leads to loss of kelp forests and kelp forests reduce wave height and mitigate tsunamis and I wrote a plan for an otter sanctuary and some tree cover to help mitigate tsunami damage in downtown which is extremely flood prone and flooded several times in the few years I lived there, but not tsunami levels of water inundation.

If a tsunami occurs, that's me betting the odds, NOT "magic".

That's me going "Most of the town is in a tsunami hazard zone and in EIGHT years of crapping on me instead of doing their job, they've probably STILL done absolutely NOTHING about tsunami mitigation while Wil Russoul BRAGS loudly that the high cost of flood insurance is why he can't do his job and attract businesses to the downtown area, so that's out of his hands and his bosses can get off his back.

Um, no. THAT IS his job. That would be like a soldier saying "You can't expect me to take the objective! There are enemy soldiers SHOOTING at me!"

I did a LOT of research to try to come up with lightweight, affordable, effective solutions to the serious problems the town has while they strung me along with promises I might yet get the job. I got nothing but shafted by these people.

And if a tsunami wipes out the town: Welp, you brought that on yourselves. And I shall laugh my butt off if that happens.

I have reason to believe these people have been stalking me online for eight years. If they have done absolutely NOTHING about things like tsunami mitigation, I wrote about Tsunami mitigation in July 2023.

I don't know why they do the ridiculous stuff they do, but they are shafting ME and the town BOTH.

They aren't even stealing my best ideas and refusing to pay me or credit me but at least helping you poor fools living in the town paying his salary in a government pork barrel position with no meaningful oversight.

And should this post give the people at the Main Street America program bright ideas about stealing my ideas for tsunami mitigation, they've tried stealing my ideas before and it went poorly.

I have no idea why you fools pay them and tolerate the existence of their program.
